In Chinese culture, a baby's first month birthday calls for a celebration. Red Eggs hold a special symbolic significance in many cultures, and the Chinese believe eggs symbolize fertility, happiness and the renewal of life. The colour red means prosperity and auspicious to the chinese.

 In recent years, some of the traditions surrounding the "moon yuet" have been modified. Parents may choose to hold the celebration at a fancy restaurant or home buffet party or even complete with a children's magician.
